Taste of the Mountains

We recently visited Madison and Nate parents and were there during the annual Taste of the Mountains event. I always like going because there is so much to look at, so many vendors. This year the Kemper Mansion was also open. As I had never been in it before and love anything with a history to it, we went inside and looked around. (For those not from Madison, it's an old historic home in the Town of Madison that was once home to a governor among other notables.) We also went into the Feed Store Antiques shop since I always wondered what the inside looked like. It happens to look like something the guys from American Pickers would drool over and I hear what's in the store in only a small portion of the total. Stuff is literally piled everywhere and not everything is actually for sale. Emily seemed to enjoy all that she saw.

Some of Nate's family also came into town so we all got to catch up and they got to meet Emily.

Emily was really good, as always, except for her sleeping habits. Normally when we go out of town she sleeps in the room with us, but I think we are going to have to change that in the future. She would sleep great until we decided to go to bed and then she would cry about every 20 minutes. We ended up sleeping in the living room for part of the night and as soon as we left the room she stopped waking up and crying. Don't know what that was about, but I haven't felt that tired since she was a newborn.

Other than that it was a fun few days!

  1. I love the photos that you included with your post, Gair. She's learned so many words just since I last saw her!

  2. Yeah, she is becoming more and more like a little girl and less and less like a little baby. She's growing up...
